東京 – 2019年12月17日 – 2K ならびに Firaxis Games は、大人気ストラテジーゲーム「シヴィライゼーション」シリーズの最新作として、2016 年にベストストラテジー・オブ・ザ・イヤー賞を受賞した他、数々の輝かしい受賞歴を誇る『シドマイヤーズ シヴィライゼーション VI』の魅力をニュース速報風にお届けする動画を制作し、近日中に公式HP及び2K JapanのオフィシャルYouTubeチャンネルにて公開いたします。
伝説的なゲームデザイナーであるシド・マイヤーによって生み出された「シヴィライゼーション」は、歴史に実在した27名の指導者の中から1人を選び、世界を探検し、名だたる他の指導者たちと競い合いながら、“時の試練”に耐えうる国家の建設を目指すターン制ストラテジーゲームです。歴史をテーマにボードゲーム感覚で遊べるゲームで、どこよりも科学の発展した文明となるか、強大な軍事力で世界を征服するか、または文化を極めて他国の模範となるか―など、ゲームに勝つ方法は実に様々。あなたの戦略次第で、見たことも聞いたこともない“新しい”歴史をゲーム内でどんどん作っていく楽しみが待っています。

今回制作したオリジナル動画では、この「シヴィライゼーション」シリーズが特徴とする、＜実際の歴史ではありえない様々な“歴史的出来事”＞をニュース速報風にご紹介。架空の「シヴィライゼーションニュース」という番組内で、外国人アナウンサーが次々とゲーム内で起こりうる“ありえない”歴史的瞬間を紹介していきます。こちらのWebCMのアナウンサーと世界の偉人たちのナレーションを、フリーとして幅広く活躍中の笠井信輔氏が担当。笠井氏は今作がフリー後初のナレーション収録の仕事となり、そしてキャリア初のゲームCMナレーションへの挑戦となりました。
収録中は独特のアレンジがきいた笠井氏のナレーションにより、次々と読み上げられる“ありえない”ニュース内容に終始スタッフからも笑いが。普段の真面目なトーンとは一変したナレーションに、本人は「外国人キャスターが少しおちゃらけた感じだったからね、合わせて少し声色を変えたほうがいいのかなと」とコメントし、更に動画内で担当した世界の偉人の台詞部分となるアメリカ合衆国第26代大統領セオドア・ルーズベルトと、秦の始皇帝の吹き替えに関して尋ねると「家で練習している中でたどり着いたんだ。ただ、実際の人物に寄せ過ぎるとダメだよね。そこが苦労したポイントかな」とコメントしてくれました。
「あなたのターン（選択肢）で、歴史は塗りかわる」という「シヴィライゼーション」ならではの魅力を伝えると同時に、初めてのユーザーにもコミカルに伝わるような、明るく楽しい動画が出来上がった。制作した動画は12月下旬より公式ＨＰ及び2K JapanのオフィシャルYouTubeチャンネルにて公開予定。
『シドマイヤーズ シヴィライゼーション VI』はPlayStation® 4（パッケージ版＆ダウンロード版）、Nintendo Switch（パッケージ版＆ダウンロード版）、Xbox One（ダウンロード版）、Windows PCにて遊ぶことができ、Nintendo Switch版、PS4版、Xbox版では、最新のアップデートやアップグレードはもちろんのこと、新しい文明や指導者、シナリオが追加される以下の 4 つのコンテンツパックも最初から実装されています:
